Menginstal Plymouth di Debian

Plymouth merupakan aplikasi yang mempercantik tampilan distro linux anda ketika booting maupun shutdown. Aplikasi ini berfungsi untuk menggantikan atau menyembunyikan sebarisan processing text ketika booting maupun shutdown. Beberapa langkah yang perlu dilakukan untuk menginstal serta mengkonfigurasi plymouth adalah sebagai berikut :

1. Agar plymouth bisa diaktifkan ketika startup maupun shutdown, edit grub yang berada di folder /etc/default/grub dan isinya kurang lebih sebagai berikut :

# /boot/grub/grub.cfg.

GRUB_DEFAULT=0
GRUB_TIMEOUT=0

Pada text yang diberi background merah, ubah menjadi berikut

 GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT="quiet"

tambahkan splash pada quite, dan menjadi

GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT="quiet"

sedangkan pada text berikutnya 

 #GRUB_GFXMODE=1024x768

hilangkan tanda #, dan menjadi

GRUB_GFXMODE=1024x768

Setelah itu simpan, dan lakukan update grub dengan perintah

update-grub

2. Instal plymouth-nya, jika melalui konsole ketik

apt-get install plymouth-drm firmware-realtek

untuk melihat tema plymouth ketik :

plymouth-set-default-theme --list

dan untuk menginstal temanya ketik

plymouth-set-default-theme

kemudian ketik

update-initramfs -u
